About
Enchanted Courts is a small, independent editorial index of hotels. It exists because the interesting parts of a hotel — what the building used to be, how the rooms are actually shaped, what happens in the public spaces — tend to be the parts that listings sites leave out.
The index is organised into four categories and kept intentionally short. Art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels each ask something different of a building, and grouping them this way makes the differences legible. A property appears in exactly one category. If it sits awkwardly across two, we leave it out rather than stretch a definition.
How entries are written
Every entry is prose. We describe the location, the structure and the character of the stay in a paragraph, then add a few plain facts underneath. We do not publish star ratings, guest scores, review quotes or prices, because those are either someone else's data or change faster than a page like this can honestly track.
What we do publish is general and durable: where a hotel stands, roughly when it was built or rebuilt, what kind of rooms it has and what else is in the building. Seasonal properties — the ice hotels especially — change every year by design, so anything time-sensitive should be confirmed with the hotel directly.
What this site is not
Enchanted Courts is not a booking service and not an agent. There is no reservation system here and no commercial relationship implied by a hotel's inclusion. If you want to stay somewhere listed, go to the property or to a booking provider of your choosing.
The name is a little fanciful; the writing is not meant to be. We aim to be accurate first and readable second, in that order.
